Project Overview
LearnFlow — Enroll Learners is an interactive software simulation developed in Adobe Captivate to demonstrate a realistic learning management system enrollment workflow. The experience guides learning administrators through searching for learners, selecting participants, reviewing enrollment details, confirming selections, and completing the enrollment process. Interactive controls, visual feedback, and conditional navigation provide hands-on practice within a simulated environment.
Developed as a portfolio concept project, LearnFlow demonstrates the design and development of a realistic LMS administration workflow without relying on a proprietary system.
The Goal
Create an engaging, task-based learning experience that helps LMS administrators understand and practice the steps required to enroll learners accurately. The simulation was designed to reinforce correct workflow sequencing, provide clear feedback during interactions, and allow users to build familiarity with a common LMS administrative task in a controlled practice environment.
My Approach
For this project, I followed a task-based instructional design process focused on mapping a realistic LMS enrollment workflow, developing interactive software controls, guiding users through required decisions, and validating the completed simulation in Adobe Captivate.
Understand
Identified the key steps and decisions involved in enrolling learners, including locating participants, selecting learners, verifying enrollment details, and confirming successful completion.
Design
Structured the simulation around a realistic administrative workflow, using searchable learner lists, selection controls, visual feedback, and guided interactions to support accurate task completion.
Develop
Built the interactive experience in Adobe Captivate using buttons, input fields, dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, object states, and conditional navigation to simulate LMS functionality.
Validate
Tested learner selections, navigation paths, button states, feedback, and completion behavior. Reviewed the published simulation across desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts for usability and consistency.
Results & Impact
Realistic
LMS Workflow
Developed an interactive LMS simulation guiding administrators through learner searches, participant selection, enrollment verification, and successful enrollment confirmation.
Interactive Task Practice
Built functional learner-selection controls, input fields, object states, and conditional navigation to support hands-on practice and accurate workflow completion.
