Project Overview

OJT Essentials is a scenario-based e-learning course designed for a manufacturing environment. The course introduces a clear, consistent approach to on-the-job training (OJT) to help build skills, improve performance, and support a culture of safety and quality.

The Goal

Create an engaging, accessible e-learning experience that standardizes the OJT process, gives learners practical tools, and reinforces key behaviors that lead to safe, consistent, high-quality work.

My Approach

For this project, I followed a practical instructional design process focused on understanding the performance need, designing a clear learning experience, developing the course in iSpring Suite 11, and validating the final experience across devices and interactions.

Defined the performance need, target audience, and key behaviors required for consistent on-the-job training.

Understand

Structured the course around four core principles—Working Safely, Job Knowledge, Quality, and Efficiency—and planned the learning flow, interactions, and visual system.

Design

Built the course in PowerPoint and iSpring Suite 11, incorporating visual storytelling, interactive elements, and knowledge checks.

Develop

Reviewed navigation, interactions, visual consistency, and published HTML5 output, then refined the course based on testing.

Validate
