Project Overview
Working Smarter with AI is an interactive workplace e-learning experience designed to help employees use generative AI responsibly and effectively. The course combines concise instruction, interactive exploration, decision-based scenarios, and prompt-building practice to reinforce four core behaviors: using AI appropriately, applying human judgment, verifying information, and protecting sensitive data.
The Goal
Create a practical, engaging learning experience that moves beyond AI awareness and helps employees make better decisions when using generative AI at work. The course was designed to give learners opportunities to evaluate choices, practice building stronger prompts, and apply responsible-use principles in realistic workplace situations.
My Approach
For this project, I followed a practical instructional design process focused on defining responsible AI workplace behaviors, designing interactive decision-making and prompt practice, developing the experience in Storyline 360, and validating the final course across interactions, variables, and published output.
Understand
Defined the workplace behaviors learners needed to apply when using generative AI: use AI appropriately, apply human judgment, verify information, and protect sensitive data.
Design
Structured the experience around interactive exploration, decision-making, immediate feedback, and prompt-building practice rather than passive content delivery.
Develop
Built the course in Storyline 360 using layers, states, triggers, visited-state gating, and a LearnerPrompt variable to create meaningful interaction and practice.
Validate
Tested navigation, feedback, variable behavior, interaction logic, and published HTML5 output to ensure a consistent learner experience.
Results & Impact
Responsible
AI Decisions
Reinforced when to use AI, when to apply human judgement, and when to verify information before acting.
Safer Information
Use
Emphasized protecting sensitve information and checking AI-generated content before using or sharing it.
Applied
Practice
Used scenarios, immediate feedback, and prompt-building practice to help learners apply responsible AI behaviors in realistic situations.
What’s Next
Future enhancements could include:
Additional role specific scenarios
Expanded prompt-building practice.
Manager discussion guides and job aids
LMS tracking and reporting
